Had a very long day hiking today. I'll post a blog about that tomorrow, but before the day was through I wanted to do a quick Father's Day post.
To my dad, undeniably the biggest supporter of my crazy adventures and goals in life. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else at the summit of Springer Mountain when I began this hike, and I can't wait to have you waiting at Katahdin when I finish my thru. You're an absolute inspiration on every level, and truly have been the best role model I could have asked for. I wouldn't be who I am without your guidance and input throughout the years. From Red Sox hats before I could speak, late nights reading the Hardy Boys, learning to whistle and name the constellations while I still had training wheels on my bike, and all sorts of adventures that unquestionably gave me the itch to attempt (and complete) something like this.
Can't wait to have you on the trail to do some hiking with me next weekend. Happy Father's Day, dad. Love you.
