A Little Bit About A Long Trail

The Long Trail is known as the oldest long distance hiking trail in the United States, and often is credited as being Benton McKay's inspiration for the Appalachian Trail. Built  between starting in 1910, the Long Trail begins at the Massachusetts/Vermont border and extends some 273 miles across the backbone of Vermont's Green Mountain range to the border of the United States and Canada.

White we intended to cover the entire trail in our limited three week timeline, we made the call just under halfway to not continue north. Below is a table detailing our day to day progress as we progressed through the mountains, as well as a map showing the section we covered before we got off the trail. Our end point was 125 miles north of the S marker at the Massachusetts border.
